A Visit To Mountaineer Coffee Roasters

The Coffee Barn and Bakery

Tucked away in Brooksville, Florida, only a short drive from Tampa, is The Coffee Barn & Bakery.

The Coffee Barn and Bakery

Daniel and Darby Pritz are co-owners of this adorable coffee shop and have done an amazing job creating a local, home town, feel.  Everything from the cozy furniture, to the chalk board style signage, is warm and inviting.

Mountaineer Coffee

Daniel and Darby invited us to check out the shop and sample some of their delicious coffee. Time seemed to fly while we were meeting with them and I’m sure we could have talked for hours! They are just the sweetest! They told us all about the history of the coffee shop and how it has grown over the past few years.

They even package and sell a variety of different single origin beans as Moutaineer Coffee. Mountaineer Coffee got its name from Daniel’s grandfather who owned “Mountaineer Antiques” in downtown Brooksville, FL.

During our visit, we sampled the Guatemalan. It was brewed to perfection using the pour over method. In a pour over, the water is heated to 200 degrees in a kettle and is poured by hand over fresh grounds. This method provides a more flavorful cup of coffee. They also gave us a bag of the Brazil, which is one of their more popular roasts, to take home. I’ve been drinking the Brazil this week and have really enjoyed it!

We had such a great morning chatting away with both Daniel and Darby! We are really excited to partner with Mountaineer Coffee and add them to our list of local roasters!
