Blazing Bean Roasters: Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Gedeb Grade 1

  • Roast Level: Full City (Medium)
  • Notes: Strawberry, Kiwi, Apricot
  • Process: Washed

About the Coffee: This coffee from the Gedeb District of Yirgacheffe is sourced from family-owned farms organized around the Worka Cooperative and grown at an altitude of 2000+ meters. It has notes of apricot and thinned peaches, whilst remaining bold but clean with a lovely floral aftertaste.

About the Roaster: Blazing bean is the wife and husband team of Kristen and Paul. They started Blazing Bean Roasters through brotherly competition, a hot air corn popper, and their love of food! Paul spent many years roasting and ordering beans from around the world. He learned which beans were to their liking as well as the best way to roast them. With Kristen’s training in culinary arts, she learned how to detect subtle flavors in the coffee. Together they discovered that the best cup of coffee is obtained through small batch roasting.

Zeal Coffee Roasters: Brazil Cerrado

  • Roast Level: Full City (Dark)
  • Notes: English Toffee, Nutmeg, Dark Chocolate
  • Process: Natural

About the Coffee: This coffee is grown in rich soil that the natives call “Terra Roxa” or “Red Earth” and other factors such as consistent rains, high daytime temperatures, and dry winters combine to make the Cerrado region an ideal area in Brazil for producing coffee. It is grown at an altitude of 3,000-4,000 feet and is harvested from April-September.

About the Roaster: Zeal was born in a garage with a homemade roaster made from a chop shop popcorn popper that wold soon become a well-engineered coffee roasting machine. Zeal’s passion is to get a better cup and to know everything there is to know about coffee. With a love for good coffee, Peter Davidson decided to take a leap of faith and leave the corporate world to open Zeal Coffee Bar. The name Zeal, which means overwhelming enthusiasm toward something, is a perfect fit for the Davidson family.
